Location
The Seokguram Grotto is located in the South Korean city of Gyeongju on Mount Tohamsan. It is a part of the Bulguska Temple complex. The 3.5 meters high Buddha sculpture is regarded as one of the finest in the world. It is placed over a lotus pedestal that is itself 1.34 meters tall. The sculpture depicts an enlightened Buddha and the position of his hands is reflective of the enlightenment that he got while meditating under the Bodhi tree.
