The Indus Valley civilization is the oldest civilization in India. Some of them are made of clay and on the other hand, some are of bronze, as this was the only alloy which was known to them. The "Three Headed God" statue reminds us of Lord Shiva in Hinduism. There are also some of the statue figures which are believed to have been used as toys in their society. Statue of Kainshka, the ancient king in this country is also a well known one. Still, apart from eroticism, these statues also represent some of the essential religious thoughts. The "Parvati" statue figures which belong to the 10th century not only represent the religious elements, but also the beauty of woman figures.
Nataraja is one of the most famous statue figures which are found especially in South India. The dancing image of Lord Shiva which is represented by this statue symbolizes the completion of perfection. The circle surrounding the statue is the main symbol which represents this thought.
