It is interesting to note that Chinese Buddhism togther comprises various schools of Buddhism that have flourished in the country of China ever since the ancient times. These schools integrated ideas belonging to Confucianism, Taoism and other indigenous philosophies into the original religion. Thus what was basically a foreign religion came to become well assimilated with the existing Chinese civilization. The religion has played a major role at China. It has not only played a powerful role in shaping the mind-set of the people, in fact, it has had an impact on every aspect of the country. Be it aesthetics, politics, literature, philosophy, medicine or even religion. The religion had a deep rooted impact on the various facets of the country and even produced some great spiritual masters of its own. Since the art of pottery was famous at China it is no wonder that Buddhist art was represented through Ceramic Sculpture too. Thus religious works too got expressed in Ceramic Sculpture.
